• Tripura CM Sends Medicines, Study Table After Girl Seeks Help On Facebook

    CM Biplab Kumar Deb believes that social media is an effective channel to reach out to people

    A class 8 student from Tripura’s Agartala, Barsha Das is elated after Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb took note of her request, and sent her a study table, medicines for her ailing mother, and packets of food items.


    14-year-old Das has recently posted a video on Facebook, addressing the CM, where she said that her family of four lives in a single room, and she cannot afford a study table for her. In another video, she said that her mother has tested positive for Covid-19, and her family is in need of medicines and money.

    After coming across her messages, the Chief Minister immediately asked the officials to extend all possible help to her. On Friday, the little girl received a study table, food packets and medicines at her home in Maheshkhala, on the outskirts of Agartala.

    After receiving the items, Das told the PTI that she is touched by the Chief Minister's gesture. She added that the aid sent by their CM will definitely solve some of their problems.

    The Chief Minister's media adviser, Sanjay Mishra said Deb is "very active" on social media. The CM believes that social media is an effective channel to reach out to people.
