India's only Olympic gold medallist in athletics, Neera Chopra took to social media to share two easy-breezy steps to get rid of the tension.
Chopra tweeted a picture of himself where he can be seen posing with a steel glass and a roti. The javelin star captioned the image in Hindi: "Khao roti, piyo chai. Tension ko karo bye bye." It roughly translates into ‘eat tea-bread and keep your tension at bay'.
Soon after Chopra posted the image, it went crazy viral on social media as netizens appreciated the simplicity of the athlete.
"So cute and lovely Man. No attitude full native. Sir I will definitely meet you once in life. I am a big fan of you," wrote a user.
Another said, "Hero inspiration to all of us. Aise hi khus raho Neeraj bhai .Stay blessed always."
In his debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the 23-year-old won the gold medal on 7 August 2021 with a throw of 87.58 m in his second attempt. A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) in the Indian Army, Chopra is the first track and field athlete to win a gold medal for India at the Olympics.
He is also the first track and field athlete from India to win at the IAAF World U20 Championships, where in 2016 he achieved a world under-20 record throw of 86.48 m, becoming the first Indian athlete to set a world record.
Chopra was recently seen in the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati with India men's hockey team goalkeeper PR Sreejesh. Recently the youth icon fulfilled a "small dream" of his, as he took his parents on their first flight.
He has also featured in a TV commercial for CRED recently, which is getting a lot of praise from the netizens. The hilarious ad highlights the craze around the star javelin thrower. In the video, Chopra can be seen playing multiple characters including that of excited fans and reporters.
