Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has been denied bail on Friday after he was arrested in connection with the infamous Mumbai drugs-on-cruise case.
Along with Aryan, the court also rejected the bail applications from two other accused in the case- Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha. The court said that all the three would have to approach the Sessions Court for bail. The trio is housed in and will be returned to Mumbai's Arthur Road jail.
Arguing against the bail plea, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had said releasing Aryan could hamper its investigation.
The agency claimed that 23-year-old Aryan could tamper with evidence and influence witnesses. The agency also insisted all the accused were "regular users of contraband".
However, Aryan's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde stated that the NCB had failed to find drugs either on his client's person or in his bags.
Maneshinde also represented actor Rhea Chakraborty when she was arrested by the NCB in a drug case related to the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case.
Aryan was arrested by the NCB after a Sunday night following a raid at a rave party on Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship on Saturday night.
