The two masked robbers looted Rs 2,80,000 from the Assam Oil petrol pump near Fire Brigade and later proceeded towards Bamon Service Station. A bullet from an AK-47 rifle was found at the Indian Oil petrol pump on Sunday morning.
The entire incident of the robbers threatening the Assam Oil petrol pump workers at gunpoint and taking over cash worth Rs 2.8 lakhs was caught in CCTV cameras. The bikers were noted to be conversing in Hindi. In the CCTV footage, it was found that two men wearing helmets entered the Assam Auto Agency office and threatened the staff. The miscreants took less than three minutes to execute the robbery.
After robbing the petrol pump, they rushed towards Nongrim Hills and tried to rob the Nongrim petrol pump at around 9 pm. However, they couldn't do so as the cash counter didn't have cash at that time. The duo later left the petrol pump without harming anyone.
