Several dead after suspected explosion at Telangana chemical factory

At least ten people lost their lives and several others sustained injuries following a powerful explosion at a chemical factory in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Monday, June 30, police said. The incident occurred at the Sigachi Chemical Industry located in Pashamilaram, where a reactor reportedly exploded, triggering a massive fire.

The force of the blast was so intense that it hurled workers up to 100 meters away, with many becoming trapped in nearby tents as flames rapidly spread through the facility. Firefighters rushed to the scene and are continuing their efforts to douse the blaze and carry out rescue operations.

Multiple fire engines have been deployed as emergency crews battle the inferno, which has engulfed significant portions of the plant and caused widespread panic in the surrounding area.

Several of the injured are reported to be in critical condition, and rescue and relief operations remain ongoing.
