4 members of Indian-origin family go missing during road trip in New York

Authorities in the United States are actively searching for four elderly members of an Indian-origin family who mysteriously disappeared during a road trip. The missing individuals — Kishore Divan (89), Asha Divan (85), Shailesh Divan (86), and Gita Divan (84) — were traveling from Buffalo, New York, to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when they lost contact with family and failed to reach their destination.

The last confirmed sighting of the Divans was on July 29, 2025, at a Burger King outlet on Peach Street in Erie, Pennsylvania, around 2:45 PM. Surveillance footage captured two of the family members entering the restaurant, and a credit card transaction at the same location further corroborated this as their final known stop. Authorities have since been tracing their route but have found no further leads.

The family had planned to continue their journey to Moundsville, West Virginia, where they were scheduled to stay overnight at the Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold in Marshall County. Despite having prepaid for their accommodation, they never checked in, and all their mobile phones have been unreachable since. Police departments across multiple jurisdictions are now collaborating in the search, urging anyone with information to come forward.
