The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member squad representing India for the forthcoming five-match T20I series against England, which is set to commence on January 22 in Kolkata.
Veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami is set to make a highly anticipated comeback to the T20I squad following a 14-month hiatus.
The 34-year-old fast bowler last participated in the World Cup final against Australia in Ahmedabad on November 19, 2023. He was unable to play due to an ankle injury that required surgery, and knee swelling also prevented him from competing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
The Men’s Selection Committee has appointed Suryakumar Yadav as the captain, with Axar Patel taking on the role of vice-captain.
The T20I series consisting of five matches between India and England is set to commence on January 22 in Kolkata. The matches will take place at renowned venues in Chennai, Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai.
