World Bank forecasts 6.7% growth for India, surpassing global growth of 2.7%

The World Bank has maintained its growth projection for India at 6.7 percent for the fiscal year 2026, asserting that the nation will continue to be the fastest-growing major economy over the next two years.

The World Bank, in its flagship Global Economic Prospects report, stated that the services sector is projected to experience continuous growth, while manufacturing activities are expected to gain momentum, bolstered by government efforts to upgrade logistics infrastructure and enhance the business climate through tax reforms.

The global economy is anticipated to grow by 2.7 percent in both 2025 and 2026, maintaining the same rate as in 2024, as inflation and interest rates gradually decrease. Additionally, growth in developing economies is projected to remain stable at approximately 4 percent over the next two years.
