Nissan has already started exporting 10,000 units of the LHD Magnite to various regions worldwide

India is quickly establishing itself as a major global export hub for Nissan, with the company recently beginning shipments of the left-hand drive (LHD) version of its compact SUV, the Magnite, to new international markets, according to a senior company official.

Nissan has already started exporting 10,000 units of the LHD Magnite to various regions worldwide. Additionally, the company is exploring the introduction of hybrid and CNG vehicles, along with other new models in India, beyond the already announced lineup, said Frank Torres, President of Nissan India Operations, in an interview with PTI.

Torres also assured that the ongoing talks about a potential merger between Nissan and Honda would not affect the company’s plans for new product launches in India, which include two mid-size SUVs (a five-seater and a seven-seater) and an electric SUV. He further highlighted that Nissan is on track to achieve its target of tripling both domestic and export volumes to 1 lakh units annually by the end of FY26.

“India is increasingly becoming one of Nissan’s key global export hubs. With the commencement of exports for the left-hand drive version of the Magnite, we will now be exporting to a total of 65 countries, reinforcing India’s role as one of Nissan’s largest export hubs worldwide,” Torres added.

Previously, Nissan Motor India was exporting to 20 countries, but with the launch of shipments to left-hand drive markets, the company will now extend its reach to an additional 45 countries.
