The Mahakumbh festival held in the sacred city of Prayagraj is projected to have produced an economic impact exceeding Rs 3 lakh crore (USD 360 billion) through various goods and services, positioning it as one of the largest economic events in India, according to Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and Member of Parliament for Chandni Chowk.
The Mahakumbh, occurring once every 144 years, is taking place in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, attracting millions of devotees throughout this six-week period.
Trade leader and parliamentarian Khandelwal emphasized that this event, recognized as the largest human gathering globally, has solidified the link between faith and economic activity.
