Union Minister Jitendra Singh predicts that India's space sector will grow to USD 44 billion soon

During the ‘Space-Tech for Good Governance’ Conclave hosted by the Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership, Union Minister Jitendra Singh forecasted that the space sector is poised to expand to USD 44 billion in the near future, representing an almost fivefold increase.

The Ministry of Science & Technology reports that Singh highlighted the role of the National Space Innovation and Applications (NSIL) and In-SPACe in promoting collaboration between governmental and non-governmental organizations, which has propelled India’s space economy to reach USD 8 billion.

Singh highlighted India’s increasing prominence in global space exploration by stating, “The era of following others is behind us. Today, India is the one leading the way for others to emulate.”
