Manoj Kumar, the Chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), announced that a national exhibition took place in Prayagraj during the Mahakumbh from January 14 to February 27, 2025.
The ‘Khadi Revolution’ initiated by PM Modi has led to unprecedented sales at the exhibition, totaling Rs 12.02 crore for Khadi products.
Additionally, the exhibition showcased 98 stalls dedicated to Khadi and 54 stalls representing village industries, achieving combined sales of Rs 9.76 crore for Khadi items and Rs 2.26 crore for products from village industries.
To bolster the ‘New Khadi for New India’ initiative, Kumar distributed 2,050 bee boxes, honey colonies, and toolkits to 205 beekeepers in six states through a video conference from KVIC’s Rajghat office in Delhi.
During the distribution event, KVIC Chairman Kumar emphasized that in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting the ‘Sweet Revolution’ in rural areas, the ‘Honey Mission’ has been launched to provide bee colonies and bee boxes to local beekeepers.
