The commerce ministry reported that the nation’s exports of goods and services reached over USD 820 billion in 2024-25, reflecting an approximate 6 percent rise compared to the prior fiscal year, despite ongoing global economic uncertainties. In 2023-24, exports were recorded at USD 778 billion.
The commerce ministry updated exporters on the statistics during a meeting convened to discuss the opportunities presented by the current circumstances and to inform the industry about the measures the government is implementing to address the situation.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal engaged in discussions with export promotion councils and industry organizations regarding the recent implementation of elevated tariffs by the United States.
The ministry has guaranteed exporters that the government is committed to creating a supportive environment that will help them effectively adapt to the recent shifts in the global trade landscape.
