The ACSU has urged the teams to remain extra-vigilant of the businessman pretending to be a fan and luring them with luxury

The BCCI has issued a strong advisory to all IPL  stakeholders – including franchise owners, players, coaches, support staff, and commentators – alerting them to the presence of a suspicious individual from Hyderabad reportedly attempting to involve league participants in corrupt practices.

According to a Cricbuzz report, the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU) has identified the individual as a businessman with known ties to bookies and prior involvement in corrupt activities. The ACSU has warned IPL teams to be vigilant, avoid any engagement with the man, and report any interactions or contact with him immediately.

The suspect is said to be using deceptive tactics, often posing as a fan to get close to players and support staff. His approach includes offering lavish gifts and invitations to private parties to build personal connections.

In some instances, he has allegedly approached the families of IPL participants, offering them ownership in jewellery shops and hospitality businesses as part of his ploy.

All teams have been asked to stay alert, steer clear of any unsolicited approaches, and report suspicious behaviour without delay.
