The doors of Shri Madmaheshwar Temple (the second Kedar) will open on May 21, and the third Kedar, Shri Tungnath Temple, will also reopen on May 2

The sacred portals of the Char Dham temples in Uttarakhand are set to reopen for devotees, marking the beginning of the 2025 pilgrimage season. The journey, considered one of the holiest in India, includes visits to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

Yamunotri and Gangotri Dhams will open on April 30, officially launching the yatra. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will reopen on May 2, followed by Badrinath Dham on May 4.

In addition to the Char Dham shrines, the Madmaheshwar Temple (the second of the Panch Kedar) will open its sanctum to devotees on May 21, while the Tungnath Temple, the third Kedar and one of the highest Shiva temples in the world, will also reopen on May 2.

Traditionally, the Char Dham Yatra is undertaken in a clockwise direction – starting at Yamunotri, then Gangotri, followed by Kedarnath, and ending at Badrinath.
