Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson didn't feature in the previous game against LSG due to injury

Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson will miss their upcoming IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), scheduled for April 24 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, Samson will remain in Jaipur to continue his recovery from an injury sustained while batting against Delhi Capitals.

The Royals’ statement confirmed that the skipper is undergoing rehab under the supervision of the team’s medical staff and won’t travel with the squad. “Samson is currently undergoing recovery and will remain at the team’s home base (Jaipur) with select RR medical staff. As part of his ongoing rehab process, he will not be travelling to Bangalore for the upcoming match against RCB. The team management is monitoring his progress closely and will take a game-by-game approach regarding his return to action,” the statement read.

Samson had to retire hurt during the game against Delhi and also missed the subsequent clash against Lucknow Super Giants. Unfortunately for RR, they lost both matches from winning positions – falling short of 9 runs in the final over on both occasions. Delhi forced a tie and won in the Super Over, while LSG’s Avesh Khan successfully defended 9 runs to seal a narrow two-run victory.

In Samson’s absence, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his IPL debut and made an immediate impact.
