Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif said he was ready for a 'neutral and transparent investigation' into the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 civilians dead

Breaking his silence amid rising tensions with India, Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that he was open to a “neutral and transparent investigation” into the Pahalgam terror attack, while firmly asserting that Pakistan was fully prepared to respond to any potential misadventure.

“Pakistan is open to participating in any neutral, transparent investigation. Peace is our preference. We shall never compromise on our integrity and security,” the Pakistani PM said.

The remark comes at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, triggered by New Delhi’s strong response to the April 22 terror attack at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, where gunmen targeted tourists.

At least 26 people were killed by a group of terrorists who emerged from the dense forests around the trekking paradise of the Baisaran. In retaliation, India revoked visas issued to Pakistani nationals and ramped up security measures along its international borders.

India has consistently held Pakistan-based groups accountable for cross-border terrorism and has urged the international community to take decisive action against such threats.
