Fresh bomb threats were reported at five major locations across the state, including the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s office at the Secretariat, Cliff House, Raj Bhavan, the Transport Commissioner’s office in Thiruvananthapuram, and Nedumbassery airport in Kochi. The threats were sent via email.
Police and bomb squads have launched inspections at all affected sites. In Thiruvananthapuram, the threat messages warned of explosions at four major locations by 2 p.m., while the message at Nedumbassery airport indicated a potential blast around 2:30 p.m. Authorities confirmed that the nature of the threats was consistent across all locations.
These new threats come just one day after a similar warning was received at Thiruvananthapuram airport. Despite hopes that the wave of hoax threats, which had plagued the state over the past three weeks, had ended, new alerts started arriving by 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28.
While initial assessments suggest that these threats are likely hoaxes, security forces are taking no chances. CISF teams, bomb squads, and state police are conducting thorough inspections. Officials reported that approximately eight fake alerts have been received in the past two days alone.
