The government has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) for a significant air exercise scheduled along the southern segment of its border with Pakistan on May 7 and 8, geo-intelligence expert Damien Symon said on Tuesday, May 6.

All frontline aircraft, including the Rafale, Mirage 2000 and Sukhoi-30, will participate in the exercise. The Air Force exercise would be monitored by the top officials and fine tune its standard procedures.

The NOTAM indicates restricted airspace usage in the region during this period, signalling preparations for a large-scale military drill involving the Indian Air Force.

This comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam which claimed the lives of 26 people.
