The MPs are expected to brief foreign governments and legislators on the Pahalgam terror attack, presenting evidence that links the incident to terror groups operating from Pakistani territory

The government is set to dispatch several all-party delegations to multiple countries beginning next week, as part of a major diplomatic campaign to highlight Pakistan-sponsored terrorism on the global stage. This initiative follows Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22.

Members of Parliament (MPs) from various political parties, including those in the opposition, have been approached by the government to join the effort. Several parties have already agreed to participate by nominating their representatives for this diplomatic mission.

Although the exact number of delegations and MPs involved has not been officially confirmed, reports suggest that over 30 MPs could take part. These delegations will travel to different regions, categorized by the government, over a 10-day period. Prior to their departure, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will conduct briefings for the MPs to prepare them for their engagements abroad.

Representatives from a wide spectrum of political parties are expected to participate, including the BJP, Congress, TMC, DMK, NCP(SP), JDU, BJD, CPI(M), and others.

According to several reports, parties have been informed to be prepared for departure around May 22–23, with the MEA set to share detailed itineraries and logistical information.

Prominent figures expected to be part of the delegations include former Union Minister Anurag Thakur and BJP MP from Odisha Aparajita Sarangi. The Congress is also sending a delegation, which reportedly includes Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, Salman Khurshid, and Amar Singh.

Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, involved precise airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack. The upcoming diplomatic outreach is aimed at building international consensus and support for India’s stance on cross-border terrorism.
