Vedanta said it is on track to achieve its goal of reaching 2.5 GW of clean energy by 2030

India Inc is intensifying its initiatives to reduce carbon emissions on World Environment Day.

The Indian mining and metals company Vedanta Ltd announced that it has boosted its renewable energy capacity to 1.03 GW.

The firm stated that it is progressing towards its target of attaining 2.5 GW of clean energy by the year 2030.

As per a statement, the company has increased its 24/7 renewable power capacity to 1.03 GW via power delivery agreements.

Vedanta has announced its goal to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050 or earlier. “The 1 GW of renewable energy is expected to help Vedanta reduce over 6 million tonnes of carbon emissions each year. This amount is comparable to the carbon absorption of approximately 350 million trees per year,” the company stated.

Vedanta Aluminium, the largest aluminium manufacturer in India, has outlined a number of initiatives focused on minimizing its environmental impact and incorporating sustainable practices.
