At least nine shots were fired at comedian Kapil Sharma’s newly opened cafe in Canada, just days after its inauguration. Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi has claimed responsibility for the attack, though fortunately, no one was injured.
The cafe, named Kap’s Cafe, marks Sharma’s first venture into the restaurant business, with his wife Ginni Chatrath also involved. Located in Surrey, British Columbia, the cafe had recently held its soft launch.
A video from the night shows a man sitting in a car, firing at least nine shots rapidly at one of the cafe’s windows.
Officials revealed that Laddi is among the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) most wanted terrorists and is linked to the Babbar Khalsa International. The shooting is believed to have been ordered by Laddi as retaliation for a previous statement made by the comedian.
Police and forensic teams responded quickly to the scene, and investigations are ongoing.
