Rishabh Pant equaled MS Dhoni’s record for the most fifty-plus scores by a visiting wicketkeeper in Tests in England, notching his eighth such score during Day 3 of the ongoing Lord’s Test.
Pant reached his half-century off 86 balls in a steadying knock that followed Shubman Gill’s dismissal. Gill had earlier surpassed Virat Kohli’s record for the most runs by an Indian captain in a Test series in England.
Partnering with KL Rahul, Pant helped India recover from 145 for three overnight, putting together a crucial century stand. His composed innings placed him alongside Dhoni atop the list, ahead of John Waite (7), Rodney Marsh (6), and Jock Cameron (5).
