Atishi’s elevation to the role comes at a time of escalating political friction.

In a key organisational shake-up, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) appointed senior leader and former Delhi minister Atishi as the new in-charge (Prabhari) of its Goa unit. The move comes as Pankaj Gupta, who previously held the position, steps down due to health concerns.

Atishi’s elevation to the role comes at a time of escalating political friction. Addressing a press conference, she accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of reviving its “political vendetta” by allegedly misusing central investigative agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Referring to recent observations made by the Supreme Court, Atishi said the agencies function like “caged parrots,” and alleged that despite multiple raids over the years, the BJP has failed to substantiate a single charge of corruption against AAP leaders.
