In a shocking breach of security in one of the capital’s most high-profile areas, Member of Parliament R Sudha Ramakrishnan fell victim to a chain-snatching incident on Monday morning while out for a walk in Delhi’s diplomatic enclave.
According to reports, the incident took place around 5:30 am near the Chanakyapuri area — a zone known for hosting embassies and VIP residences. Two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle allegedly approached the MP during her routine walk and snatched her gold chain before fleeing the scene.
The incident has raised serious questions about safety measures in what is considered one of the most secure regions of the city. A case has been registered, and the Delhi Police have launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the culprits.
