In a fresh provocation, Pakistan on Tuesday, August 5, violated the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector by initiating unprovoked firing.
According to sources, the Indian Army responded strongly in the Krishna Ghati sector, with the exchange of fire lasting about 15 minutes. No casualties have been reported on either side so far.
This is the first reported ceasefire violation since the launch of Operation Sindoor by Indian armed forces on May 7, a military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed by Pakistan-linked terrorists.
