At least four people were killed and six injured after a cloudburst struck a remote village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district

A cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district claimed four lives and left six others injured during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The tragedy comes just days after a similar disaster in Kishtwar that killed more than 60 people earlier in the week.

Officials said the sudden deluge buried several houses under debris and floodwaters in the Ghati area, while parts of the Jammu–Pathankot National Highway also suffered damage. Rescue teams have been rushed to the site to assist affected families and restore connectivity.

The cloudburst not only caused loss of life but also disrupted access to the remote village, with reports of land and property damage emerging from the region. Authorities are continuing efforts to clear debris and provide relief to the survivors.
