The high-level talks took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin, where both leaders engaged in discussions on bilateral and regional issues.
In his televised opening remarks, PM Modi highlighted that cooperation between India and China extends beyond the interests of the two nations. He noted that their partnership directly impacts the welfare of 2.8 billion people, underscoring that constructive engagement would also contribute significantly to the broader progress and well-being of humanity.
At the same time, the Prime Minister firmly raised the issue of terrorism, labeling it a global menace that demands collective action. He urged China to work alongside India in combating the threat, stressing that peace, stability, and security remain essential for ensuring sustainable growth and cooperation in the region.
