Former US President Donald Trump has once again criticized India over trade, branding it the “most tariffed nation” in the world. Speaking on The Scott Jennings Radio Show, he repeated his claim that New Delhi had offered to eliminate tariffs altogether — a move he attributed solely to his tough stance on trade.
Trump argued that countries like China, India, and Brazil “kill” the US with tariffs, stressing that he had a deeper understanding of the issue than others. According to him, India’s position as the most tariff-heavy nation highlighted the unfairness in global trade practices.
He further asserted that tariffs gave the US significant negotiating power, suggesting that without his policies, India would not have made such offers. Trump maintained that his tariff strategy was crucial in securing better trade terms and strengthening America’s leverage on the world stage.
