Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Punjab on September 9 to meet people and farmers impacted by the recent floods, among the worst the state has experienced in years. His visit will focus on overseeing relief measures and rehabilitation efforts in the affected regions.
During the trip, Modi is expected to review the widespread damage caused as floodwaters submerged numerous villages and wiped out crops across several districts. The visit aims to assess the situation on the ground and ensure timely assistance reaches those in need.
Announcing the visit on X, the BJP’s Punjab unit said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Gurdaspur, Punjab on 9th September. He will meet directly with the flood-affected brothers, sisters, and farmers to share their sorrow and take every possible step to help the victims.”
