In a major operation, security forces on Wednesday, September 10, arrested suspected ISIS operative Ashar Danish from Islamnagar in Ranchi. Danish, a native of Petwar in Bokaro district, was apprehended in a joint action carried out by the Delhi Police Special Cell, Jharkhand ATS, and Ranchi Police.
Officials said the Delhi Special Cell had been searching for Danish for a long time in connection with a case registered in the capital. Following his arrest, he is being interrogated to establish his role and possible links to a wider terror network.
On the same day, another suspected ISIS member, identified as Aftab, was arrested in Delhi. The arrests came as special cells and central agencies conducted extensive raids across more than 12 locations in different states, during which over eight suspects were taken into custody.
