Nepal’s Gen Z protesters, who recently pushed for the ouster of the KP Sharma-led government, have unveiled a set of political and social demands aimed at sweeping reforms. Central to their agenda is a call for accountability, including investigations into wealth allegedly looted by politicians over the past three decades.
The movement has also announced that those who lost their lives during the protests will be officially honoured as martyrs, with their families receiving state recognition, relief, and support. Organisers further pledged targeted programs to tackle unemployment, reduce migration, and address deep-rooted social injustices.
In a statement, the protesters stressed that their campaign was not aligned with any party or leader but was dedicated to safeguarding the nation’s future. “Peace is essential, but it is possible only on the foundation of a new political system,” they said, expressing hope that the President and the Nepali Army would act positively on their proposals.
