Zubeen Garg, 52, passed away in Singapore on September 19, 2025, after a tragic swimming accident during a yacht trip.

Renowned Assamese singer, lyricist, music director, and actor Zubeen Garg passed away at a hospital in Singapore on September 19, 2025. His mortal remains are scheduled to be brought back to Assam tonight via Delhi on an Air India flight.

Upon arrival in Assam, Zubeen Garg’s body will first be taken to his residence at Guwahati’s Bhagaduttapur, where family members will pay their respects. Thereafter, it will be moved to Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex at Sarusajai Stadium for a public tribute, where fans and admirers from across the state are expected to gather in large numbers.

In anticipation of the massive turnout, Guwahati Traffic Police have announced the following traffic regulations to ensure smooth movement:
Vehicle Movement Regulations:

• All types of commercial goods-carrying vehicles will be restricted on NH-27 and NH-17 from 6 AM to 11 PM on September 21, 2025, until further notice.

• Visitors paying tribute at Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex will alight at Rongmon Point on NH-27 and enter via Gate No. 1A. After paying homage, they will exit through Gate No. 3 and take either Naamghar Path, Gorolia, or Holi Gogoi Path to NH-27/service road.

• No vehicles will be allowed inside the sports complex.

• Essential, emergency, and media (DSNG) vehicles will enter via Gate No. 1C and park in front of the Indoor Stadium.

• The service road of NH-27 from Lokhra underbridge to Nalapara, in front of the sports complex, will be a No Vehicle Plying Zone.

• These restrictions will not affect emergency vehicles such as fire tenders, ambulances, life-saving drug carriers, oxygen supply vehicles, school buses, and local residents.

• No parking will be allowed inside Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex.

• Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel and plan their movements accordingly while paying respects to the late artist.
