Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that well-wishers will be able to pay their respects to the late singer Zubeen Garg at Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex, Sarusajai, on September 21, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The Chief Minister stated that the government has made elaborate arrangements to ensure that fans and admirers from across the state can offer their tributes in an organized and smooth manner. Traffic management and crowd control measures will be in place along the routes from LGBI Airport and Garg’s residence in Bhagaduttapur to the sports complex.
Sarma urged the public to cooperate with authorities to ensure that the tribute proceeds in a dignified and respectful manner. “Please cooperate with relevant local authorities to ensure a fitting tribute to our beloved Zubeen,” the CM wrote on X.
Zubeen Garg, who passed away on September 19 in Singapore, was one of Assam’s most celebrated singers, lyricists, music directors, and actors. His sudden demise has left the state and his fans in deep mourning, with his timeless music continuing to resonate across Assam.
