PM Modi lauded US President Donald Trump’s leadership, stating, “Peace efforts in Gaza are making decisive progress.” His comments came after Hamas made a breakthrough announcement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, October 4, expressed strong support for US President Donald Trump’s leadership in advancing peace efforts in Gaza. The statement comes after Hamas indicated its willingness to release all Israeli hostages and agreed to key elements of Trump’s 20-point peace plan.

The peace plan proposes a ceasefire, the formation of a technocratic Palestinian government in Gaza, and humanitarian aid for the region.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said: “We welcome President Trump’s leadership as peace efforts in Gaza make decisive progress. Indications of the release of hostages mark a significant step forward. India will continue to strongly support all efforts towards a durable and just peace.”

The international community has largely welcomed the developments, with leaders from Europe, Australia, and Canada expressing cautious optimism. Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stressed that Israel must halt its attacks for the peace process to succeed.

The situation remains fluid, and the coming days will be crucial in determining whether the peace plan can lead to a lasting resolution of the conflict.
