The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has announced that the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, will undertake his first official visit to India on October 8–9, 2025, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The visit marks an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
During the two-day engagement, both leaders are expected to review the progress of the India–UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership under the ‘Vision 2035’ roadmap, which serves as a 10-year framework for cooperation. The discussions will span key sectors such as trade and investment, technology and innovation, defence and security, climate and energy, health, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
On October 9 in Mumbai, Prime Ministers Modi and Starmer will meet with business and industry leaders to explore opportunities arising from the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). Their talks will also address regional and global issues of mutual concern. Additionally, both leaders will participate in the 6th edition of the Global Fintech Fest, where they will deliver keynote addresses and interact with innovators, policymakers, and industry experts.
