ECI reviews preparedness for upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025

With the Bihar Assembly elections approaching, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has intensified preparations across the state. After meeting political parties on Saturday, the poll body held a series of crucial discussions in Patna on Sunday with various enforcement agencies to ensure free and fair elections. Officials confirmed that the Commission will brief the media later on the overall status of election preparedness.

During the meetings, the ECI engaged with senior officials from the Income Tax Department, police, and other enforcement agencies to review strategies for maintaining transparency and curbing malpractice during the polls. The Commission also met with the Chief Electoral Officer, State Police Nodal Officer, and representatives of central security forces to assess operational readiness and security deployment plans.

Addressing a press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar announced that the Bihar elections would be held before November 22. “There are 243 constituencies in Bihar, and the Election Commission team is in the state for two days to oversee preparations,” Kumar said. He added that top officials, including the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, participated in a high-level review to ensure smooth coordination and strict enforcement of election protocols.
