The Election Commission has stated that the Bihar elections will be held in two phases. The counting of votes will be held on November 14.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections, which will be conducted in two phases on November 6 and November 13, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 14. The 243-member Bihar Legislative Assembly’s term ends on November 22, making it imperative that the elections are completed beforehand.

ECI Chief Gyanesh Kumar highlighted that this election will be conducted with the highest standards of transparency, security, and efficiency, with over 500 companies of Central Armed Police Forces deployed across the state. Special observers have been appointed to oversee the election process, and enhanced measures such as horse patrols and boat transport to remote areas have been introduced to ensure smooth polling.

The final electoral roll lists 7.42 crore voters, including 3.92 crore men, 3.5 crore women, and 14 lakh first-time voters, while approximately 6.8 million names were removed during the recent Special Intensive Revision. Politically, the elections are expected to be a significant contest between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and the opposition Mahagathbandhan, spearheaded by Tejashwi Yadav. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will also field candidates across all 243 constituencies. The ECI has pledged to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process for all voters in Bihar.
