A routine IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Srinagar took an unexpected turn on Wednesday, October 22, when it made an emergency landing at Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport due to a detected fuel leak. The aircraft, flight 6E-6961, was carrying 166 passengers and crew members at the time.

The plane safely touched down at 4:10 pm, and all passengers and crew were promptly evacuated and escorted to the arrival hall. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported during the incident.

According to Varanasi Police and airport officials, the pilot acted swiftly upon noticing the fuel leak and immediately informed Air Traffic Control, ensuring a safe and controlled emergency landing.
