Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a large gathering of Bihar natives in Surat, emphasized that “there is no need to teach politics to Biharis,” praising their talent and its influence on the NDA’s decisive win. He said that after such a historic mandate, his visit to Surat would have felt incomplete without meeting the city’s Bihari community, whose support he described as their rightful claim.
Reflecting on his years as Gujarat Chief Minister, Modi reiterated that his guiding vision had always been rooted in the idea that India’s progress depends on the progress of every state. He highlighted that the BJP’s commitment to “nation first” ensures equal respect for all regions and people. Celebrating Bihar’s cultural and historical legacy, he recalled how Gujarat honoured the state’s centenary by hosting and felicitating 100 individuals who contributed to Bihar’s development.
Modi also noted that Biharis living in Surat closely followed every phase of the state elections. He underscored that the NDA’s victory—secured with a clear 10 percent lead over the Mahagathbandhan—reflected the people’s strong faith in development-focused governance.
