Pakistan had called the Ram Mandir flag-hoisting by Prime Minister Narendra Modi an example of "Islamophobia" and "heritage desecration".

India strongly criticised Pakistan’s remarks on the recent flag-hoisting ceremony at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir, with MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal asserting that Pakistan has “no moral standing to lecture others.” He condemned Islamabad’s comments, highlighting its own “deeply stained record of bigotry, repression, and systemic mistreatment of minorities,” and rejected the remarks with “the contempt they deserve.”

Pakistan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry had labelled the ceremony an act of “Islamophobia” and “heritage desecration,” invoking the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition while attempting to draw international attention. It further attacked India’s government and judiciary, accusing them of discriminatory practices toward minorities—claims that India termed baseless and politically motivated.

Responding firmly, India urged Pakistan to introspect rather than deliver “hypocritical homilies.” Jaiswal stressed that Pakistan should focus on addressing its own human rights issues instead of issuing uninvited and misleading commentary on India’s internal matters.
