Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit India on December 4–5 for the annual India–Russia summit, officials confirmed on Friday. The visit comes at the invitation of PM Narendra Modi.
During his two-day stay, President Putin will hold delegation-level talks with PM Modi in New Delhi, focusing on key areas of bilateral cooperation including defence, trade, energy, and strategic partnerships. President Droupadi Murmu is also expected to host a ceremonial reception and state banquet in his honour.
This will be the 23rd annual summit between the two nations, a mechanism that allows both sides to review progress in their long-standing “Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.” The leaders are likely to discuss major regional and global developments as well.
Officials say the visit underscores the continuing commitment of both countries to deepen ties despite shifting geopolitical dynamics.
