Election Commission extends Special Intensive Revision schedule to 11 December 2025 for 12 States and UTs

The Election Commission of India has announced a seven-day extension for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in 12 States and Union Territories. This move gives voters extra time to ensure their names are correctly listed ahead of upcoming elections.

The revision exercise covers Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. This extension supersedes the Commission’s earlier schedule for the ongoing SIR process.

As part of its efforts to maintain accurate and inclusive electoral rolls, the Election Commission aims to provide voters with sufficient time to verify their details, file objections, or make corrections. The draft electoral list resulting from this revision is scheduled to be published on December 16.
