US President Donald Trump on Thursday delivered a strong warning to Hamas, saying the group would be “blown away” if it refuses to give up its weapons. The remarks were made as Trump presided over the signing ceremony of his Gaza-focused “Board of Peace” on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, attended by several world leaders and dignitaries.
Calling disarmament non-negotiable, Trump described it as the first critical test of his newly unveiled peace framework. He reiterated that Washington would soon know whether Hamas intends to comply, saying clarity would emerge “over the next two or three days, certainly over the next three weeks.”
The ceremony marked the formal launch of the Board of Peace charter, which Trump has positioned as a mechanism to oversee ceasefire enforcement, reconstruction, and security coordination in Gaza. He also indicated that the initiative could eventually expand its scope to address conflicts beyond the region.
