In her Union Budget 2026 speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled Bharat Vistaar – a multilingual AI‑driven agriculture platform designed to integrate multiple government agri‑portals such as AgriStack and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research systems. This tool aims to provide farmers with timely, region‑specific guidance in their own languages, enhancing access to agricultural resources and decision‑making support.
The AI platform will offer customised advisory support to farmers across different stages of farming — including crop planning, weather conditions, pest management and market insights — with the goal of reducing risks and improving overall productivity. By consolidating fragmented information systems into a unified interface, Bharat Vistaar is expected to make complex agricultural guidance more accessible and easier to use for farmers nationwide.
This initiative reflects the government’s broader push to leverage artificial intelligence and technology in agriculture, aiming to strengthen rural livelihoods, enhance farm incomes, and support sustainable agricultural practices in India’s diverse linguistic and geographic landscape.
