Owen Cooper, 15, becomes the youngest-ever male Emmy winner, for his breakout role in Netflix mini-series Adolescence

Netflix’s Adolescence and Apple TV+’s The Studio were the big winners at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, sweeping major categories and making history on television’s biggest night.

Adolescence claimed six awards, including Outstanding Limited Series, along with wins for directing, writing, and three acting honours. Fifteen-year-old Owen Cooper became the youngest ever male actor to win an Emmy, taking home Supporting Actor in a Limited Series.

Apple TV+’s The Studio set a new record by winning 13 Emmys, the most ever for a comedy in its first season. Seth Rogen earned three trophies — for Best Actor, Best Writer, and Best Director in a Comedy Series — as the show was also named Outstanding Comedy Series.

HBO Max’s The Pitt was named Best Drama Series, with Noah Wyle winning his first Emmy for Lead Actor in a Drama. Jean Smart picked up her fourth Emmy for Hacks, and co-star Hannah Einbinder won Supporting Actress in a Comedy.
