MSIL launched the Jimny in India in June 2023 and started exporting it to various countries in Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa from October 2023

Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) announced that it has commenced the export of the off-road sport utility vehicle (SUV) Jimny to Japan. This marks the second vehicle, following the Fronx, that the company is sending from India to Japan.

MSIL launched the Jimny in India in June 2023 and began exporting it to various countries in Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa from October 2023. In the 2023-24 fiscal year, over 22,000 units of this five-door vehicle were exported from India, with the company reporting shipments of more than 38,000 units of the Jimny in the first nine months of the current financial year.

Mexico, Australia, and South Africa are presently the leading export markets for this vehicle. Recently, domestic sales of the Jimny have been somewhat tepid. Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), a Japanese company, holds approximately 58 percent of the shares in MSIL.
