Air India has announced the full resumption of its international flight operations starting October 1, 2025, marking a significant step towards restoring normalcy following a temporary suspension. The Tata Group-owned airline had paused overseas services after the tragic Ahmedabad incident on June 12, prompting a comprehensive internal review.
In a statement, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson acknowledged recent operational challenges and reassured passengers that the airline is committed to enhancing its systems to ensure a more reliable travel experience.
“We initiated a phased return of international operations from August 1, 2025, and are on track for a full-scale resumption by October 1,” Wilson said. “This gradual approach allows us to thoroughly complete all necessary verifications and resume services with full confidence.”
He added, “We recognise the disruption and inconvenience caused in recent weeks and take these matters very seriously. Our teams are working diligently to strengthen internal processes to better serve our passengers moving forward.”
