Passengers took to social media to vent their frustrations as operations came to a standstill in Chicago, Denver, Newark, Houston and San Francisco.

United Airlines was forced to temporarily ground all its mainline flights across the United States due to a technical system issue, disrupting travel plans for thousands of passengers. The glitch prompted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to issue ground stops at several major airports, including Chicago, Denver, Newark, Houston, and San Francisco.

Although the issue was resolved within an hour, the airline warned of ongoing delays as operations gradually resumed. “The underlying technology issue has been resolved, and while we expect residual delays, our team is working to restore our normal operations,” a United Airlines spokesperson said in a statement.

The disruption led to widespread frustration among travelers, many of whom took to social media to express their grievances. According to flight tracking data, at least 827 flights were delayed and 23 cancelled as a result of the outage, highlighting the scale of the impact across the country.
