Apollo Tyres has been announced as the new jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team, securing the rights until 2027. This landmark deal follows the termination of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) contract with Dream11, which ended after the government imposed a ban on betting-related applications under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act.
As part of the agreement, Apollo Tyres will pay Rs 4.5 crore per match to the BCCI, exceeding Dream11’s earlier contribution of Rs 4 crore. This makes the deal one of the most lucrative sponsorship arrangements in recent years, offering Apollo Tyres extensive global exposure thanks to India’s busy international cricket schedule.
The announcement comes at a crucial time, as the Indian men’s team is currently without a jersey sponsor during the ongoing Asia Cup, and the women’s team is also playing without a sponsor in their ODI series against Australia. The new partnership is expected to fill this void and strengthen the financial backing of Indian cricket going forward.
